These songs have changed language, found new audiences and arrangements, and sometimes ending up in surprising places.
Contributors to the programme are David Robb and Sarah McCleave of the School of Arts, English and Language at Queen’s University Belfast, Brianna Robertson-Kirkland, Lecturer in Historical Musicology at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and musicologist Tríona O’Hanlon.
The soundtrack to the programme includes clips from CD and new performances by Brianna Robertson-Kirland and Brian Connor, David Robb, and Oskar Cox-Jensen.
